Series 920 Laser "Footprint" Pattern Paper

Applications

The Series 920 Laser Footprint Paper is an inexpensive, accurate, and conveniant passive detector for determining the energy distribution of a laser beam. Basically a photocopy paper, the Series 920 is discolored upon laser beam impact. The technique for using this type of energy measurement is designed especially for use with Q-switched lasers, but it can also be used for normal mode applications. Typical threshold (complete bleach) at a wavelength of 1.06 microns occurs at 0.8 joule/cm2. Discoloration occurs at lower flux densities.

The Series 920 paper has been widely used for determining such laser beam characteristics as Beam Uniformity Prolies, Divergence Distribution, Beam Location and Shape, Output Detection and Detection of Reflected Beams from Optical Systems, Windows, etc.
